Had a new bathroom installed 2 years ago. Just a few days ago, started getting a loud noise from the boiler when you turn on the upstairs taps / shower mixers (both upstairs bathrooms). No noise when you turn on the kitchen tap. It sounds like the boiler is about to explode..

The BG engineer came out and said something about back pressure from one of the tap or shower mixers but couldnt say which one was faulty.
Not really sure what he meant tbh and he couldnt give more information as the boiler itself was ok (according to him)...

Any suggestions, help really appreciated..

Well if he was there and could see your secret boiler model, little chance we can get much of an idea when we don't even know where you live!

Quite an old boiler.

The boiler does not know where the hot water is going to.

Try setting each tap to give 8 litres per minute and see how it responds to each different tap.

Possibly you have joystick taps and the BG thinks there is some kind of leakage of cold into the hot.

Even so the boiler should not be making any special noise.

I don't get why this has started now and why it happens when you turn on any of the taps or shower mixers. Maybe a simple explaination.
I have one joystick type tap.
