Hello there

I have a Grant vortex oil boiler which is very old, when the CH is on its very loud all over the whole house, it sounds from every room like someone is hoovering everywhere.
I have the AAV on the pipe at the top opened and drained out some air, the other one on top of what looks like the tank is junked up.
Someone said it coudl be air in the system or the heat exchanger is knackered.
The system has been cleaned with x800 and has a magnaclean.
its interesting even when the TRV is off the rad in my bedroom humms loudly.
Its driving me mad and wakes me up when the heating comes on?

Any idea's or tips?

If its a vortex pro it's either a 26 or 36 kw
Either way is boiler noisy when doing hot water?
Be good idea to sort auto air valves out we tend to replace them with manual ones as on latest models.
Heating pump can get air in it that can take some moving especially if pipework layout is poor and be very noisy.

Hi there
Its the 26KW looking at the label,
Thank you for replying.
I will see about getting someone to change both AAV to Manual ones to see if that fixes it.
Maybe worth bleeding the pump also to make sure there is no air in it.
cheers
