Morning all

I have an increasingly loud droning sound coming from my shower pump which is only 5 months old. It has worked fine until recently.

The pump is a Salamander CT50+ Twin Positive Head Shower Pump with Isolators 1.5bar

The pump is located on the floor of the airing cupboard alongside the hot water tank, which backs onto the wall behind where the shower is mounted.

The hot water supply is in 22mm pipe fed via an 'S' flange mounted in the top of the tank. Due to the pump and shower locations the pipe run is relatively short.

The cold water supply is via an independent 22mm pipe from the loft storage water tank located almost above the airing cupboard. Both the hot and cold water supplies seem perfectly adequate.

There has been no problem with air in the system.

Any positive comments or suggestions as to the possible cause or remedy to the problem will be most welcome.

Many thanks in advance

Lag all the pipe work with pipe insulation as this will stop any pipes from vibrating onto the wall or other pipes, also place a rubber car matt under the pump.
