Noisy tap problem

Hi

I don't know if anyone can help?

My bathroom tap, single pillar rtype, when I turn it on, it makes a whirring/whistling noise. It has been getting louder over the past few weeks.

What could this be please and how can I fix it it is annoying at night time especially

Is it a monoblock mixertap?

They can be noisy with high water pressure because the waterways are very narrow and high pressure water 'screams' when it goes through them.

If you know the make you can order a new cartridge, they are usually £10 - £40. That could be the fault.
