Hi,

Im looking to get a new boiler fitted in my attic,my plumber has advised me

that it has to be a condensing boiler (band a or b)

The problem is the condensate pipe for the boiler will be a long run to a drain.

The plumber has suggested a non condensing boiler but i thought you are not allowed to fit one?

So are there any non condensing boilers that are a band A/B that will meet current building regulations?

Thanks in advance

Band a and b are both condensing. The condensate can go into your bathroom waste pipe or even be pumped elsewhere.

You cannot fit a non condensing boiler unless strict criteria are met. (I doubt you would meet them). Condensing boilers use less gas so are more economical and enviromentally friendly.
