Currently have a now dated looking cheapo style looking laminate floor.
We're thinking of changing it in favour of something less .....cr?p looking.
We're not wanting somthing too perfect looking like so we was thinking of going for T&G floor boards and then just giving it a few good coats of stain and varnish. More rustic styley....
Can I lay these to a solid screeded floor ? What sort of underlay would be needed?
If this is possible, would I have an issue with the ends meeting with the expansion and contraction baring in mind that it's not fixed to the surface underneath?
Do the boards need to be of a minimum thickness?
Any advice or thoughts would be welcomed...Thanks.
