Hi

After finding a damp patch near the lower LH corner of my uPVC window, it seems that on a wndy day rain water seeps from the end of an add-on which the window sits on.

I'm assuming due to the age of the window - it is well past its prime, 1980s, externally beaded, - that rain is trickling down the window and traveling past the lower glazing bead.

Until I have the budget to buy new windows I thought a successful fix might be to apply silicone between the bottom beading gasket and the glass along its entire length.

Can anyone recommend a silicone sealant for best performance? Would this sealant be as good as any for the job?

Cheers

I have never come across a glazing bead that cant be removed.
Can you post a pic of the window inside, outside and close up of where the water is coming through?
