I have just bought a Monobloc Sink Mixer Tap and have a gravity fed system. Do all mixer taps fitted with gravity fed systems need to have a non return valve on the hot pipe?

If both supplies are from the storage tank, you don't need a NRV.

You do need to check the tap is suitable for low pressure in that case.

stops the cold main backfeeding down the hot pipe
i know what it is for, just need to know if i needed one.

cold is from main sorage tank and the hot id from cylinder, is that what you mean?

How can i find this out?

It's marked on the box normally or in the manufacturers data.

Just realised that the cold supply comes straight from the main and not the tank as i first thought and hot is from cylinder. Does this make any difference? Something tells me it might.
