I have just fitted a new Wickes 'Vision Tall' Kitchen monobloc mixer tap.

The hot flow from it is great, but the cold is very weak. The tap is only 2 feet down the pipe from the cold stop tap, and the water flow/pressure in the house is fantastic - almost too high!

The isolation/service valve is fully open, so thats not the fault. There is a non return valve on the end of the flexi, where it attaches to the pipe/service valve.

Is it the return valve that is killing the cold flow? How can I test the non return valve?

sstrip it out and see if it is blocked, or temp refit without it to see what the flow is

Remove the flexi from the tap and attach it to the iso valve. Point it into a bucket and open the valve. If you get good flow, blockage must be in the tap.

Kinky hoses can give you this problem as well.

Enough about your evening apparel. ;)

However, twisting of flexis whilst tightening them up is sometimes a problem, as it reduces the bore.
