so following on from my supporting wall thread it turns out its not supporting but it needs a beam to stop any bounce in the upstair floor,

do i need to notify building control?

no its a big span but says it would be better with a beam

If that floor does not bounce with the wall in place, but bounces without the wall in place, then the wall is supporting the floor pure and simple.

"Already?" said Florence.
