Not the usual Saniflo problem

No, its not getting blocked.

It is the model that has the basin waste fed to it.

Flushing is fine - the pump kicks in as it should. Draining the basin is fine. The pump kick in as it should. The problem comes when I drain the basin while the toilet is still doing its thang after flushing. More often than not the pump carries on (or is it the grinding mechanism?) for ever, until I turn power off and on again.

Is this a common fault or might it have been installed incorrectly? Any ideas?
 
I think you will find they have a float switch, it will be sticking
Try giving it a kick see, if it stops, it could save you a lot of trouble.
