Not used plastersizer in mortar!

Hi.

I'm self building rear single storey extension.

Not used any plastersizer. Been using 4:1 mix with plain water.

Joints seem very strong. However I'm a bit concerned about not using plastersizer.

It's block leaves and K render finish.

Will buy some today but what are negative affects of not using it?

So far I've laid 5 rows of foundation blocks and one with block and cavity

Just hard work without it. You’ll notice the difference when you start using it. You don’t need to redo what you’ve done

Just used it. What a difference. Was actually enjoyable. Thanks mate.

You need more water to get the mix workable without it, and extra water weakens the mix.

dont go berserk with your new found plasticiser . too much does weaken the mix.

Update. Loving the difference. Blocks going on like dream. Less work for sure.

Yes I'm putting 85ml per 1 bag of 25kg cement and using less water than before.
