I didn’t know she’d died (2019):

Gun-Marie Fredriksson (from the Swedish group Roxette). A great singer. Just heard a cover of fading (like a flower).

I'd heard she'd suffered from cancer for years. Absolutely shoite, I remember her great voice and heartfelt singing from C. 1990.....

'...British Airways' last two Heathrow-based Boeing 747 planes have departed from the airport on their final flight...'
True 'Queen of the skies'

I was in Charlestown harbour last Sunday when a BA 747 came over quite low heading towards Newquay. I swear everyone who was local stopped in their tracks to look up in wonder.
Having lived near Heathrow most of my life I wasn't unduly phased by the 'big iron bird in the sky', although I confess, I did gaze at it in wonder.

Gossips

hehe, before my time. It was an empty shell of a building when I arrived in this part of the world. Gone completely now to make way for a new development if it ever happens.

Gossips was great. would come out empty handed and go for a Guttsey burger.

I think it is generally accepted that repeated blows to the head promote brain damage.

In the old days boxing gyms often used to keep an old "punchy" to sweep up and earn an honest penny in the environment he used to be a part of. Brain damage to boxers has been known for a hundred years.

American footballers also suffer badly
"“The symptoms don’t often begin until many years after the person stops having exposure to repetitive head impacts,” says McKee’s colleague Robert Stern, from his office in Boston University’s main campus. “It’s something about that repetitive exposure that turns on the disease.”"
