nowhere to fit a curtain rail

I've just attempted to put a curtain rail up but the upvc panels go to the ceiling. I've taken them off to see what I can screw into and found nothing just a big void. Surely this isn't right. Do I need this rendered or something?[/img]

Can you post some pics so we can see what you are looking at. I would have expected to find something behind the panel.

All the work done in this new house is shoddy i'm coming to realise. The only thing there to fix to is the coving but i would imagine they are made of plaster of paris and wouldn't hold the wait of curtains.

Thats quite common for alot of window company's.
Take down the flat trims and fit some wood in there (hopefully there is something to screw it upto) then either paint the wood or refit the trims
