Hello all

We have three Oak (we think) beams in our kitchen (see picture) which we'd like to sand down and treat.

Were thinking of Osmo Polyx Matt in either clear or Light Oak.

The floor won't be as light as in the picture, slightly darker with chocolate tones.

Any suggestions on which paint/stain/treatment to use, and if there are other alternatives that we could consider?

Thanks for your help in advance!

The matt product may look as if you’ve done nothing. What effect are you trying to achieve? Leaving them untreated could be an option.

(Not an expert, but I have used Osmo Polyx Oil Tints in gloss and satin.)

I'm not good with wood. There is so much to it.
Id recommend calling https://www.littlefairs.shop/
I've also seen wood like that sand blasted and oiled. Looked good..

There was a thread on this subject a couple of weeks ago, was there not?
Sand blasting can be effective but you need to be careful of the wood lest it become scratched and pitted.
And of course, it's expensive.
