Are you sure it is varnish or any sort of Lacquer finish, the reason I ask is it's more likey to be an oil than a lacquer and if that’s the case you will be able to sand and oil a small area around the repair rather than the whole top. Take a look at these for the filling https://masterfinish.co.uk/product/epoxy-putty-sticks/
not sure to be honest. One of the other quality issues is that on the same worktop there is a bunch of whatever they used to finished dried on the corners and never removed before it was shipped to me. Image attached. Does that help? I would probably try to blend any scuffing from flattening out the repair with danish oil.

Whatever that is in the photo it’s a mess, I'm not sure what it is but would say if the top was lacquered it would be either sprayed or curtain applied and if that’s the case I don’t think it would create this had the process gone wrong so on that basis I’m going to say the top is oiled and any oil would help blend in the sanding
I contacted B+Q over a month ago and I've now sent them the same photos three times and chased several times on the phone.
So far noone has gotten back to me despite multiple promises that they would. What on earth happened to B+Q customer service? The worktop has a 25 year guarantee but the customer service is a joke.
