Hi

I've got an old timber floor that gets a lot of traffic. 10 years ago it was sanded down and covered in Teak Oil, which brings out this amazing red colour in the wood. The only problem is it stinks for ages after being done.

It needs reoiling now, but I'd be interested if anyone knows of any other product which will give the same colour without the smell,

Cheers

James

I used Osmo Hardwax recently - I don't remember there being any particular smell. It's recommended by the trade apparently, though I can't comment on its durability yet. It comes in satin and matt.

HardWaxOil is hardwearing and pretty much odourless (and non-toxic), but not sure if the natural one will bring out that red colour he's after.
They do do colour oils, but then again it depends on what kind of grade of wood the boards are, all can react differently to the colour
