Hi

I have just bought a house and the central heating boiler is in the garage stood on wooden blocks

When it was serviced recently the chap said it really shouldn't be stood on blocks, but should have a concrete pad built underneath instead

Just wanted an opinion on this, as it is stood on good solid wooden blocks and is stable etc - does it really matter what it is stood on? or would I be better doing what he has said or perhaps standing it on concrete blocks/slabs instead?

Thanks in advance

It does matter and should be on solid non-combustible hearth. If the wood rots the boiler will drop.
