Oil Heating - Water heater issue

A few weeks ago a loud clicking noise started coming from my hot press and then I noticed that the radiators on started heating when the water heater was activated. Any ideas what could be wrong?

I was thinking it was an item of commercial laundry equipment!

It looks like a case of 'no reply, was the answer' but it sounds like a slipping quadrant gear on a motorised valve that produced the clicking.
