With breathable roof membrane, I assume the main fixing is when the battens go on which are nailed to every rafter. So is it ok just to staple the membrane on before as opposed to nails?
I'm sure you're right, I'm doing mine and just putting the odd nail here and there to stop it blowing away, then battening it. Obviously that causes more holes but so would staples I guess. Not that I suggest you follow my example as I'm clueless as you'll see on my other roofing threads lol
I always staple mine, but I've noticed on the few old roofs that I've stripped (from the 1940s / 1960s) the felt has been held on with a nail half driven in an then squashed flat.
