My daugters room is above the garage and very cold in the winter. Is it ok to use normal wool type loft insulation under her floor?

The type of insulation I bought was called space blanket and encloses the wool type stuff in a big plastic/foil bag. I bought it and then read on the package that it says only use for loft or roof insulation.

Any help appreciated?

yes you can. I would certainly go for the "non-itch" stuff in a plastic wrapper, or there is a chance of fibres floating around in the room.
