I have an old "compact" 3 style tumble dryer very reliable but the drum stopped turning at the start of a cycle but the heater still heats up and now the motor is preatically dead. I removed the side panel of the machine to reveal the motor and relay but the relay seem to be OK I tested the coil and it has not broken and I turned the relay upside down and it made contact with the terminal which leads to the start windings of the motor, does this mean the motor has burnt out or could the relay still be faulty?
