image.jpg Good morning all,

Is there anything on the market that I can buy to replace this in my attic?

It's used for the upstairs lighting circuit. I was going to tidy the left hand side of it up and when I tried to undo one of the terminals it sheared. That's the second time now. Last time I used WAGOs (as you can see for a temporary fix until i had more time) but now it has happened again I think it's time to replace, plus It looks ugly!!

Thanks

Thanks Derry.

The surewire looks pretty good. I don't really want to be extending any circuits on the right of the JB as they look quite neat but the left hand side has just been laid on top of the joists so I need to route those through so I can board the attic out. If I do extend the wire, will insulated crimps be ok?(hopefully I won't have to though, also replacing the entire wire isn't an option as it runs all over the place on the right)
Thanks

When you board out attic, will the junction box still be accessible?
Insulated crimps ok, providing they are contained within the enclosure of the junction box, if not then it would advised to either contain them in an enclosure or heat shrink the joint as well.
Be aware that the cable should be terminated within enclosure and the insulation of the cores should not be exposed externally of the junction box, also there should be cable restraints preventing stress on the terminations.

Yes the JB will be accessible. Ideally I would like to put it on the slope of the roof but I would have to extend all the circuits if I did that. I guess it would be a big job just extra work that probably isn't required.

Looking at those multi JBs, I'm a little unsure if it'll do the job. Most of the pictures I've seen have both the lighting cct and respective switch going to it. My set up is kind of like a distribution board. There is one feed coming from the CU down stairs and then 6 circuits/ceiling roses running from it. All the switches are normal wired and go direct from the ceiling rose down to the switch.

Hope this makes sense.

Regards
