The flats where i live were built around 25 years back and it appears that all the cold feed was plumbed in using a plastic pipe that is no longer readily available and is not the standard diameter as in current use.
I have had 2 pipes snap on recent plumbing jobs and it appears that this stuff has become extremely brittle. The quick fix was to buy a specialist fitting where you have to glue a plastic sleeve to the plastic/Brass fitting so you can continue to pipe with standard copper. The plumber at the time found these but are they readily available and what alternatives are there.
Does anyone know what the original plastic pipe was called, as I want to replace my bathroom and can see many problems ahead with the existing pipe and would like to have some fittings ready for any potential disasters.
