Evening all,
I have an old Whirlpool AWZ3303 tumble dryer that rotates but does not heat. There are no videos online on checking the heating element or thermostats so have taken it apart and got the heating element out. The thermostats both give a reading of 0.3 ohms but I'm not getting anything across the two element terminals. Am I checking the resistance in the correct place - the green and white connectors on the element?

Directly across the green and white at the element terminals- yes!

It should test at around 20 - 30 Ohms, depending on the Kw, but also check across the thermal cut-out terminals - that should be aero Ohms.

I'm not getting anything at all across the element terminals which says to me that the heating element is dead, correct?

Which bit is the thermal cut out? I thought there was two thermostats there?

One maybe a thermostat and the other a non-resetable cut out. You say you are getting a reading across both which should mean they are ok, but it would appear that you get new ones with the new element.
