OMG Human Rights Lawyers Again

Yes, it looks like an Indian man was first (no court case needed) and then an Eritrean man (from the second court case) followed him today.

It is not clear what has happened to the original court case man (also from Eritrea).

I am just glad that the government seem to have very quickly cleared the legal hurdles. It should be plain sailing now.

And we didn't need to leave the ECHR!

The Eritrean man we returned said he was very unhappy when asked how he felt on his arrival in France.

Hopefully, if the numbers ramp up, word will begin to spread.

So that is a worrying development. For everyone one sent to France under the scheme, someone is allowed in, on top of those who are coming anyway. We shouldn't waste the slots.

The goal is to disrupt people from wanting to come, so far the trajectory is improving, we are still worse than last year, but this model might help, but it can only be a success if it impacts the numbers, otherwise its just a shuffle of people back and forth while others come anyway. Seems quite a few set off today.

heading back to Calais as we speak no doubt.

I think we will see more sneaking in, since the rules for deportation under the scheme apply to those who've only been in the country for a short period of time.
