Not far at all, much is already available.

As yet not centralised onto one system. Mainly due to cock ups with the Governements planned MOD/NHS/CJS systems that don't work.

I see that the MOD centralised computer system is two years late, millions over budget and the supplying company have only sorted 29,000 of a planned 170,000 computers so far.

Much information is being captured in isolation at the moment. It gets dangerous once they work out how to join it all up.
