We are builkding a new place, living on site in a caravan, and have put up a new barn for workshop use and for storage of our (future) house contents. We're currently looking for an insurer to cover the contents risks - the DIY building insurance can't be extended to this, and other insurers approached so far only cover 'recognised' self storage locations.
Any suggestions of companies worth trying?

It could be a difficult one to get cover, but its becoming more common these days to use a second hand shipping container.....with a shielded lock, even the ****** don't seem to get in.
Just a thought!

I personally would always look to use a 'recognised' self storage company (I always use Pay For Less Storage) for sure, most of them are relatively cheap to use and can be very handy when you have a lot of things but not much room. There seem to be more and more of them popping up all over the place too. What did you decide on in the end?

Thank you, LJ1. In the end we decided to run with self-build insurance, with a limit on materials, and domestic contents insurance.
