There's one bedroom radiator that's always on when the heating is on. It didn't always do this, it started the end of last winter and because we didn't need the heating anymore, we left it until now to fix.

Turning the radiator control down doesn't do anything and I'm pretty sure it was turned down to 0 when it started heating up (because we were using it as a store room at the time).

I just checked and it also seems to run hotter than the other bedroom radiators - did a simple hands-on test and it got very uncomfortable after a few seconds.

The house itself is only 8 years old, and we moved in last year.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well you have advised us all about your system and now we can totally diagnose the problem that you have found.

Yes?

If you've turned it down to zero and it is still heating up it sounds like a faulty TRV. Can you swap the head with another, working one, and see if it makes any difference.

Spot on denso13. Tried swapping the head out and that worked, so contacted the manufacturer (myson), got the product code and ordered a couple online for £10 each.

Thanks again denso13.
