burst radiator

Hi

Just had a major panic. I was just tidying one of the bedrooms when all of the sudden a lot of water started gushing out from the bottom of the radiator. The water started to get hotter as did the radiator, but the heating isnt on and all of the other radiators in the house are cold. I managed to turn of the taps. What caused this to happen?

Probably hasnt had inhibitor for a long time. They start to rust from the inside out...then pop!
