One Cold Rad

Hi

I just moved into a new house. I have one cold rad in the livingroom. When I close all the other rads in the house the cold one heats up. But when I open them again it goes cold again.

Anyone got any ideas?

i know to balance rads you need clip on radiator thermometers. i don't know if you can get these from screwfix etc??

i use an infared thermometer from fluke alot quick and can find the cold spots on your rads.

an infrared thermometer - sound better than the ones i bought a while ago. have you got a link for it please?

this is not exact model but all the same you can get cheaper than fluke but i use it alot.

Thanks for the help on this. I will get Thermometors and try that. Not sure if his matters but the pipes at either end of the cold rad are cold aswell. It was working fine a few days ago untill I bled a red in the bedroom that had a lot of air in it.

maybe an airlock has shifted in the pipe or sludge in the system restricting flow

If it were sludge how would I get rid of it.
