Optima Compact Battery Problem

Hello everybody,

I've replaced an old Advantage panel with had failed with a nice new Optima Compact.

All was well with the wiring/testing etc until......the battery was connected incorrectly

Now whenever the battery is connected it blows the battery fuse in the panel. However, the panel still works from the mains supply.

Have I damaged the panel beyond repair?

I was just hoping that there may of been a safeguard built into the panel as I'm sure I'm not the first numpty to do this nor will I be the last!!!

Yes it's called a fuse ! But it looks like it didn't stop further damage !
