hi all,
there is plenty of info on here about how to stop the dreaded orange peel effect but I wanted to check that what I've read is most likely to do the trick before I redo my whole room to no avail!
Using a medium pile roller I have applied 1 coat of wickes trade matt emulsion as a base coat followed by 1 coat of a Crown matt emulsion onto walls that had wallpaper on but have been stripped, sanded and sugar soaped.
I wanted to put a second final coat of the Crown paint on however I have a horrible orange peel effect all over! I cant remember if was there after the 1st coat or not.
To fix this should I try thinning the Crown paint when doing my final coat (after lightly sanding)? If so what do I thin with (water or something else) and if so by how much? Finally, to thin do I place some paint in a separate bucket to thin before rolling or just water the whole tub of paint down ready for next time as well?
Will this help remove the orange peel look or is there something else I should be trying (i.e. different roller)?
any advice gratefully recieved.
thanks in advance
