does anyone know if you can order books containing wiring schematics from car companies for a specific year/make/model ?

Dont know about the States, but over here even Haynes manuals have good enough wiring diagrams in the back - have traced many a problem using them and they're far cheaper than genuine workshop manuals.

Under the new european Block exemption regulations manufacturers have to supply the same workshop manual information they give to dealers to the general public. Try contacting the manufacturer I think you might be surprised.

sorry to point this put, but batman asked the question in April, and being as he is in America, European laws have no meaning.
