We've just finished coating engineered oak floors with Polyx Satin, two thin coats applied with the Osmo roller. All seems to have gone according to plan as far as drying time and visual result, but the end product seems to be very slippery and squeaks when walked on with rubber soles or bare feet. Also, if a piece of furniture which has stood on the floor for 12 hours is lifted, there seems to be a waxy residue left under the feet where it stood, almost as though it has been scuffed, even though the floor was dry to the touch when the furniture was placed on it, and it wasn't pushed or pulled in any way which might have been expected to cause scuffing.
My question is, is the above normal (and if so will it stop once the product has cured), or is the product not adhering properly? If it makes any difference, the floor itself is somewhat odd (we found out after laying it that it was actually produced in China, not Kent as we were originally led to believe. It is finished with a 'golden oil' which seems to just lift off at the slightest provocation, no penetration into the wood whatsoever, and it took us a long time to find a stain to cover the scratches which would actually penetrate and not just wipe off - our local flooring experts were mystified by it, especially as the quality of the floor is apparently excellent, it's just the finish which is weird. Having said that, the Osmo seemed to dry normally, so not sure what's going on?).
Any thoughts much appreciated!
