Oso hotwater direct 20RD switch hot now blown

Hi

I'm going to try my best to describe what has happened. I've just heard a big bag coming from my boiler/electric water heater.

I've gone to inspect and noticed the fuse has blown in the main fuse box and the main switch won't go on (kind of stuck)

I had noticed above the timer was getting hot as there is dark marking above it.

If I flip the fuse switch back down it just blows again.

Do I just need to change the switch or is there a bigger problem?

Any help would be very much appreciated!!

I would guess that it is a dead element in the immersion.
