Its been about 25 years since I did any major installations so after reading some of these posts I realise how out of touch I am with modern day abbreviations and even methods!

Is there a website I can log on to to find out the meaning of them?

e.g. RCBO's (residual current....?)
pscc. (haven't a clue but think it's something to do with earthing),
TNS and TNSC I think,
and a few others I can't think of at the moment.

For those of you wondering where I have been then no I have not been at HM pleasure. I have been an armature winder/fitter and never really found the need to keep up with this side of the job. Being stuck in a factory winding motors or assembling them doesn't give much call to stay up to speed on domestic/factory wiring methods. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

how much money you got to spend?

obviously the best book you can get is the 17th edition regs (expect to pay £60) and also search amazon, they do plenty of installation books that will have all the information you will need. also knock about on the forum here and read some posts-you will pick little bits of knowledge up on here!

oh and pscc is prospective short circuit current and rcbo is residual current breaker (with) overload protection (which basically is an mcb and rcd in one)

Thanks for the replies guys.
Being new to the site I am finding my way round it. From past experience 'stickys' are not always what they seem, however, will look at the wiki and hope it helps.
Once again, thank you.
