Im thinking of building an outbuilding for cold storage. 5m by 4m, 2.5m in height with flat roof, so all under PD. Probably 6inch block build, no cavity wall. The existing area contains patio slabs, not even.
Im in two minds as to whether to get someone to build an outbuilding or whether to go for a large shed type storage you can get from a shed yard or something from costoco (plastic type).
Questions:
1. If I went for a shed type, I guess the base has be corrected i.e. levelled and concreted and get rid of the slabs? How deep should the base be ideally?
2. If building an outbuilding, we are in a clay area, but should 0.6m foundations be ok? How wide should the foundations?
Thanks.
