A couple of years ago, I replaced an old outside light and reaplce a section of the gable with exterior graded cable - this was joined to the existing supply gable indoors via a choc block - not ideal but it was only meant to be a temporary measure and the cable and connection are surface mounted, so accessible.
I have now got round to decorating this part of the house, so want to bury the cable in the wall but obviously don't want to bury the choc block
What are my options here to do it safe? Could I fit a fused switch inside, running a new length of cable from the switch to an understairs area which has access, then use a junction box to connect to the existing supply? This would mean 2 points of connection on the supply to the light?
