Shouldn't really run a pipe externally, but 15mm copper or plastic polypipe will do, heavily lagged with isolator, drain off and check valves installed inside the house.

experince has taught me you can sometimes be clear enough, but never TOO clear.
saw one last week that had the isolator less than a metre from the tap sitting on the outside wall.

Wouldn't know - was brought up in Chiswick and the servants were left to deal with that side of things
But I want to run a pipe externally!
It's an outside toilet.
Cistern is outside.
No access to inside walls.
Polypipe told me that their grey Polyplump pipe was only to be used inside the heating envelope of the house, and that it would be more likely to fracture than copper if it froze, contrary to what I think.
Better get it in place soon so it can be tested!

Thanks for not providing us with this information previously!!!
The valves we are talking about are to be inside the (ice-free) main building, to enable you to isolate the water supply outside, prevent it from contaminating the mains water supply, and to be able to drain the pipework so that there is no water in the relatively exposed external pipeto freeze and thus fracture in the event of cold weather.
Given that it's a toile cistern, you should also have another isolator valve inside the loo room to enable easy maintainance.
Polypipe will obviously not give you the go-ahead to use their pipe for external use, since, if it fails, you could complain!!
You are meant to bury pipe between750-1100 mm under the ground.
