My view of a likely scenario:
Scotland leaves the UK and remains in the EU. Joins Schengen, so customs at Berwick...
Northern Ireland remains in UK but keeps an open border with Eire; customs between NI and rest of UK.
EU, unfettered by UK sabotage, moves to closer political union and becomes more democratic.
UK remains in EEA, with free trade, free movement of people but no say in the rules.
UK suffers continuing economic decline, and eventually reapplies to join EU.
UK rejoins EU, on EU terms, compelled to adopt Euro.
