Outlook Express import address cant mail to them

I have copied 400 email address from my database, into a directory in outlook express. When I tried to email I get an error message 'The message cannot be sent', ' One or more recepients does not have a valid email'.
I have tried to select 1 receipient & I still get the same error but if I type the email address, the email will go.
The address when I select them are in red & underlined. Is this the problem? Ideas welcome

Hi,
When you select a recepient from your OE address book, check under the 'Name' field to ensure that the part that says 'Email Address' contains the actual email address you wish to send to.

I have seen it before where somome will add a new contact but instead of adding the contact name & email address, only the email address has been added as the contacts name!
