Recently, switching on our garden lights causes them to flicker momentarily then the RCCB trips. The cabling is fun in conduit to two low level lights mounted on a low wall so I'm thinking that some moisture might have entered after the recent heavy rains. Is there any way to test this, other than dig/strip the whole lot out? Thanks.

If the cables strung between them, you could try disconnecting sections of it to narrow down the area where the fault exists?

Water will get into anywhere that it can. Problems are worse if outdoor items do not have any drain holes provided.

Damp will also casue problems. I recently found a problem in the base of a lighting bollard. Ants had made a nice nest in there, which went right up to the power connection. When it rained, the damp wicked up the ants nest and the RCD tripped
