im going to have an outside tap fitted/plumbed in etc..piped through from under the sink straight outside...only problem is that it will also be under the new kitchen window ive had fitted..so possibly could look a bit unsightly unless fitted alot lower to the floor...what is the general height to fit 1 from ffl cheers again :)

Why will it look unsightley ?
Most are probably under a kitchen window.

No set height but probably around waist height.

High enough to get a bucket under it I suppose

Dan, at 6' 7", will need the tap rather higher than his wife at just 4' 7" !

So they will have to agree in advance which of them will be filling buckets most often.

I doubt that Dan, who is out fitting boilers all day, will be the main filler!

My view is that the tap should be about 6" above the rim of a bucket when the user is standing upright holding it.

But there is the alternative view that it should be at a fixed height based on the bucket being placed on the ground and the tap being about 6" higher. Thats where I fitted a tap by my front door here.

think id agree with the latter tony tbh..bucket on floor tap 6 inch higher..out of the way fcol  not the prettyist of things are they

I think taps are very pretty!

If you have the type with a threaded spout then you can attach a hose pipe and use it for garden watering, car washing or just wetting anyone passing by.

Just how mine is..I have about 3ft of hose connected so I can fill buckets, or spray my boots etc, then can snap hose etc on..brilliant..

Whoops, when I read that quickly the first time I thought it said 'dodgy'.
