Oven Selector lasts 10 days

Hi,

I replaced the over selector after about 6 years and that one lasted about 6 years again.

i've just replaced it but this switch has burned out in exactly the same fashion after only about 10 days.

could anyone say whether it's likely to be a shoddy switch or something with the oven pulling too much current for some reason?

The most likely cause is the slide on connector for that scorched terminal was not a tight fit on the terminal. This would result in a poor connection which would create heat.

You should replace the connector with a new one properly crimped onto the wire.
