I wonder if any one can help, I've got a 10.5 killawot shower, run on 10 mill shower cable with a 50 amp crabtree shower on off switch, but the switch is over heating after being in the shower for 15 to 20 mins, does anyone have any ideas how to combat this, I've asked a sparky and he said a 10.5 shower uses more than 50 amps of juice,

Ask a better sparky, as the guy you asked is wrong. Is the switch a quality brand? What's more, if you've had overheating problems before, you'll need to strip back at least a couple of inches of each wire to bright copper before re-terminating into the switch. Otherwise, the copper that has been softened by the previous overheating will work its way loose and the cycle of damage will continue.

From previous experience, you have at least one poor connection in your switch. Does it feel a bit spongy when operating? Can you look at the rear of the switch? Does it look discoloured? Either way as EUK says trim back the cable (if you are able) or replace. I would also think about replacing the switch.
