Hi all

Need to overboard a bathroom ceiling which is currently lath & plaster.

Do I need to ensure all joins are on the ceiling joists as you would when normally boarding?

Also is 12.5mm or 9.5mm better?

Thanks

You could cross-strap the ceiling first with say 50x25 runners spaced so that board joins are supported correctly. This, of course, will "lower" the ceiling by a further 25mm but that might be a price worth paying. The thinner sheets should be OK for a simple cover job.
