My overflow pipe is leaking, the toilet cistern keeps filling up with water so I have had to tie the ball cock and arm up - this is where it looks like the problem lies I think.
hi has your ballcock got a brass arm or a plastic arm if brass you can some times give them a little bend and this stops your sistern from over filling or if the water inlet has a screw like fitting you can adjust it to stop you from over filling hope this helps.

thanks for your advice, it's a plastic arm - but I'm not sure which 'piece' you are referring to that I need to adjust. Could you tell me where exactly it is pls?
thanks again
Hi TonV, yes, sorry, it was a question. How can I stop the water rising over the 'overflow' pls? The ballcocks staying at a height where water keeps pouring into the cistern. When I hook the ballcock/arm up the water stops, so I know what I need to do - just don't know how to do it.
