I have an outside Rheem hot water storage tank 250 litres.
There is a hole in the top that , well its covered by a plastic thing that's being washed off. If I put it back on it just gets washed off, again, its really only for decoration. This hole is where the hot water is coming from and then leaking down the sides of the tank, just trickling. If I put my finger down the top hole, about 5mm down is a rusting plug. I didn't think anything rusted in hot water systems. Its not that old, probably only about 5 years old. What's the problem.
