Overheating

I have a 35CDi and it works fine, but about once a week the two panel lights start to flash slowly. The manual says this is an overheat and a push of the reset button returns it to normal.
But why does it happen? Any ideas to solve it.

I always do this a Christmas... oops sorry I thought you said overeating.
